[POLL] Do you guys use Xposed? Why or why not?

Hey guys,

Since I use Xposed with Greenify conjunctively, mainly because of the CPU coalescing feature, I sometimes wish Xposed wasn't so... buggy. I have had no crashes when there weren't Xposed installed - and then got force closed apps when I installed the Xposed base only, no modules.

Even the developers know this. Some ROMs even refuse to get bug reports if the said device has Xposed. While it is useful, I do believe that useful should not get in the way of stability. Especially if I wake up to a misbehaving phone and I have meetings to attend before 10 AM.

Do you guys use Xposed? Why or why not? And did you guys see any stability issues?

Micromax Knight a 350

I have flashed custom rom Version 3 in my mmx 350, after that i am unable to use recovery mode as i cant select anything by pressing the power button. Therefore, i cant install anything from the SD card.
Also OTG also not working now....

after that i tried the older version (V2) also, but the problem still exists.
Please advise me if I install CWM or twrp recovery, it will be OK?

I use the magazine unlock as I like some of the options that are in there, but the music player for Google Play music is terrible, anyone else found this?

[Xperia P] [Need Help] Flashing, Updating, Tweaking

Hi all;
I recently got my hands on an old Xperia P. with too much pain I put CWM 6.0.1 on it. Right now the phone is running on old stock 4.0.4 sony android. the baseband is u8500-49020908 and the kernel version is "3.0.8+ BuildUSer@BuildHost #1".

• A) I found "LT22i_6.2.A.1.100_Generic World.ftf". it seems the latest and the last sony generic update. could I flash it using "FlashTool"? (if I do that do I lose CWM that I installed). (Do I need to do this update in order to use custom ROMS).
  
  
• B) Could I install any kernels with the help of CWM? ( with the condition that the version would be higher) (like nemysiss kernels ....) (could someone explain this topic a bit).
  
  
• C) Right now I am using CWM. how could I install twrp. the twrp for Xperia P is an script that needs my current boot.img file. where could i get it. ( I have a boot.sin would It worked.)
  
  
• D) Does "Xposed Framework" work on Xperia P?
  

Any things That I should know? any tricks that you encountered with Xperia P will doing system tweaks?

Lenovo ZUK z1 is worth or not

Hi,

I have read the comments in amazon and also seen the reviews of Lenovo ZUK Z1 indian unit.
i found there are some issues like :-

-near the home button right side led light is not working properly.
-there are some heating issues in normal usage also.
-it hangs when we are in a call and there is only one way i.e. reboot of device.
-i also found comments saying that there is much difference between indian unit and other unit.
According to specs the hardware is realy good in this price segment but still some comments are saying its not worth to buy it.

Can anyone suggests wether i should go for Lenovo ZUK z1 (indian unit) or not.

Joying 10.1 Ford Install

I have just finished my install of the joying 10.1 inch android 5.1.1. In a 2010 ford focus.
I had to add the screen extensions to move it away from the heating controls
I have also added the neotech dab dongle but don't have a proper dab aerial I used a converter box of eBay which is suppose to change a normal non amplified in to a dab, I do get signal but only a few bars ( also the wavesync app is not great.
My only issue so far is when I make a call it only outputs 1 speaker ( need to check a few more calls) everything else works from all speakers not sure if it's the same for others?
So so far pretty pleased with it..

wifi and bluetooth not working stock rom

hi everyone, i have a problem turning on or off wifi and bluetooth since a week, only mobile data works, when i try to switch on wifi my phone reboots and if i try to turn on bluetooth it automatically turns off, im using stock rom now but the issue appeared using prism barebone rom, if i try to flash cm13 my wifi mac address becomes 02:00:00:00:00:00 which is not my wlan mac address :/

in stock rom my wifi mac address is unavailable

any solution? please help me :(

Is there any good tools that can let me manage my Android phone on PC?

I tried iTools, but just don't like it. Is there any similar but smaller or smarter software? I just need to save pictures on PC and delete some junk files quickly.

Unable to Connect to 3G/4G Network [XT1528]

The first one was able to get LTE (4G) Connection
The second one is stuck on EDGE (2G) Connection no matter what I do

I know u r in big trouble right now bcz u can't on your wi-fi (i was in trouble so)


If u install some bad rom in your moto g then sometime u can't on your wifi

It only stay at "turning on wi-fi" bt can't on...

If u have a that problem in your moto g ....then thia tutorial is for you ...and if u don't have this problem in your moto g, then u will get this problem and u have to come again in this thread MARK MY WORDS :p

I made a zip file for fix that problem.... so first plz download that file from attachment

Requirements

1 ROOTED MOTO G
2 TWRP 3.0.0.2 (Other also worked)
3 ZIP FILE (in attachment)
4 ES FILE EXPLORER
5 CONCENTRATION AND BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF "TWRPing"
6-write this whole thread in notebook so it useful while TWRPing (else open this thread in computer )

So let's start

Step 1 - First extract zip file ... u will find "1234567890" folder(name)

Step 2 Copy that folder in this path SDCARD/TWRP/BACKUP

Step 3- now reboot in recovery (twrp)

Step 4- wipe data,system,dalvik cache ,cache

Step 5 mount all partitions

Step 6- now go in to restore backup

Step 7 - u will find backup name "skyraj" n two options 1 is Persist n 2 is system

Step 8 restore both partitions

Step 9 now again mount all partitions

Step 10 now go to file manager in twrp

Step 11 go in system path, u will find folder name as "skyraj" rename that folder as "etc"
So final path is system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima

Step 12 - now install cm latest nightly

Step 13 wipe cache n dalvik cache

Step 14- reboot moto g

Step 15- now try to on wi-fi ..... WI-FI ON

Njoy frnds...

NOTE

1- your mac address will change... and it's random set by me
(But u can change it by your self)
2 i m not responsible for anything goes wrong

3 just be sure to make a Nandroid backup

Xperia X keyboard - no separate threads for Xperia X?

Hi guys!

Seems like there's no separate threads for Xperia X.

I'm currently using the 34.0.A.1.264 firmware on Xperia X and some of the keypresses are recognized as a straight swipe line when typing fast and thus Swiftkey keeps assuming wrong words… I was wondering if any of you guys already have the latest firmware versions to double check this.

You can easily check this behavior by entering *#*#SERVICE#*#* on your dialer, choose Service Tests, then Touch, then Free Drawing test and then pretending you're typing with both thumbs at high speed.

No boot only blinking red light after TWRP Update

Hey guys,
Yesterday, I've tried to update the TWRP Version to 3.02. I've downloaded the version which fits to my Xperia ZL and flashed the new version within the installed TWRP. After that I wanted to reboot to the system but it doesn't work.
The blinking red light when plugged to the charger is normally a hint for a broken battery...but the battery has never been a problem and before the update it was charged up to 60%.

Is there a possibility to get my phone working again?

Review Sikai 3d tempered glass

I just received Sikai 3d tempered glass. I order 19.05. and i received today (31.05.-to Croatia (EU)). Glass fit perfect and stick on all screen. None issue. I have before nillkin temp.glass and will leave this. Package was perfect. Cuts on glass are perfect. All sensors work like it should work. Touch work as normal, and has no effect on the screen (image) quality of the screen. Highly recomended. I use it with Orzly Onyx case and fit perefct.

well i really love this phone with the size and build. the plastic on 5x is not ugly as on samsung. its beautiful and you dont have to wear any case. the problem is the processor and ram I wish there would be a newer 5x that comes with 4gb of ram and snapdragon 820 + a better screen color accurate ( not amoled of course) damn the best phone ever.

I am new to the xda developers and a bit confused about the procedure of flashing new mm rom.. want to experiance the stock android 6.0 as we are still stuck with the kitkat 4.4.
while visiting the cm13 thread i saw in the instructions that we need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash any of the mm roms,

I have already reuested on miui for unlocking my bootloader but came to know that it may take around 15 days,,

1-wifi and hotspot working fine now even if you change the settings of the wifi hotspot it will change.before it was not save any change of hospot wifi settings.

2-contacs import export working now.

3-make the lock screen smother and faster.

4-storage memory fixed too.

5-apns fixed.

6-i add some programs as: estrong file manger and OPMM( opera mini mod and translated to english too) xposed and xposed model nova launcher and its telsa appk...

**to use nova launcher you must go to settings>disaple>default lancher and change it from there.

**bug still noticed:
-widget contact cant be created..

Updating help

Hey guys,

I have been using a 5.0.2 rooted firmware for the longest time possible and it is time for my to update my firmware because of certain battery issues.

How should I go about updating it? I did supersu's full unroot and tried the original software update but I still get the error message saying that my firmware is modified.

Tried out smart switch restore+update but after downloading the firmware and putting my phone to download mode, it gets stuck at 0%, not sure if its my wire issue because its a 3rd party wire, lost all my original wires so far with no more ideas I can come up with.

I am currently downloading my firmwares from sammobile which is taking ages, with the risk of the download corrupting halfway through. Can I flash a 6.0.1 stock firmware on my 5.0.2 and magically everything will work and my phone will be on 6.0.1 and then I can proceed to root it again? My download mode shows that I am using official samsung firmware but its custom. Or do I need to find a 5.0.2 stock firmware then flash it and update from there? I can't find my region's 5.0.2 anymore because its too old, I'm from Singapore by the way.

Any help is greatly appreciated, have been trying for 6 hours to get this to work so far and frankly I dont think I want to go through the trouble of rooting once I update to 6.0.1 because of this cumbersome process just to try and minimize battery drain.

I bought the handset in UK and everything works fine except I cannot get the mobile data to work. I have a good reception, the handset shows 3G but no arrows to the side of it. I have changed the APN settings to my network (Talkmobile), switched on mobile data etc. but still no mobile data, please help.

G900F wifi problem 6.0.1

I upgraded to 6.0.1 stock and I have problems with wifi .
When the phone goes sleep lose connection to the network and when switch on do not always recover it.
I tried various settings but have not solved the problem , for now I installed wifi keep alive as a workaround , but I'd like to know if there is a better solution

SD Card keeps corrupting itself

I'm on a moto g 2014 with latest nightly of CM 13, its been a couple of weeks now that my SD card shows up as corrupted on my android again and again, sometimes its just not visible or unmounted so i have to re-insert the SD card to make it visible but other times it just gets corrupted and i have to move data to pc and re-format/copy and paste. i don't know its happening, it shows up on my PC just fine.. any help please?

[HELP]Root + Recovery for M4 Aqua Dual E2363

I'm Pablo and recently i bought an M4 Aqua Dual E2363.
First thing that i do after this is run for XDA and search a way to root my phone.
Found some tutorials, but no one of these worked for me.
So i thought "The fact that my cellphone is a dual version means that all the to-do texts about how to root M4 single SIM will not work for me?"

Can any good soul help me to find a tutorial that works for me?
To anyone that already root your own M4 aqua, this help to fix things like overheat and lag in some games?

It describes a fairly straightforward way of rooting the phone, but is it legit?

Init.d & Install-recovery.sh support (SM-A710F)

I am having trouble installing Viper4android on my SM-A710F (2016), Indian baseband A7.
After researching a lot, i can tell that both init.d & install-recovery.sh is required .
I cannot find them in /system/etc (using root explorer).
Please suggest if it can be created or not.

Mobile is rooted with Twrp 3.0.2 installed (running 5.1.1).

Xposed an Viper4Android on rooted H960A

Hi,

some information for everyone who's interested: I tried to install Xposed Framework and Viper4Android on my rooted H960A and that worked very well.

1. Xposed Framework:
I just installed the latest framework V85 for arm64 and the second screen fix for MM, which you can find here.
Both zip files were flashed via TWRP after I flashed the SuperSu.zip to root my phone. Afterwards I installed the XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha4.apk.
You can find the latest xposed framework here and the Xposed Installer here.

To test the Xposed frameword I installed some modules (RootCloak and Flat Style Bar Indicators). Both modules work perfectly on the V10.

2. Viper4Android:
Why would you want to install Viper4Android if you have a very good Hifi DAC onboard? Simple answers at least for me: Viper4Android supports sound settings for Bluetooth devices. I have a nice Bluetooth headset I wanted to use with my V10 and after the installation I must say it was totally worth it.

You need:
* rooted H960A
* Viper4Android (I used version 2.4.0.1)
* install Busybox and run it at least once to obtain root rights
* set Selinux to permissive

* After the phone is rooted install Busybox and run the installation procedure to have busybox installed (current version 1.24.2).
* Then Viper4Android can be installed and started to install the drivers. The phone needs to be restarted afterwards.
* Then I tried to change Selinux setting to permissive with the app SelinuxModeChanger. But that did not work for me as after starting the app and granting root rights I just received the message that the superuser manager did not allow the application to access root or that my device is not rooted at all.
I tried a manual way by installing a terminal emulator and entering the commands

Opening Viper4Android and showing the driver status revealed that the driver was now active.
The downside of this manual method is that after a reboot Selinux is set to enforced again and you would have to enter above commands in the terminal emulator again.
To set Selinux to permissive at boot time you can do the following:
* install the "Universal inid.d Tool" from the play store. Start the application and switch the slider at the top of the page to "on" to activate inid.d support. Reboot your phone.
* after the reboot is done start the universal init.d tool again and tap on the entry "scripts" under "Manage your inid.d scripts". Then tap on the pen symbol at the top right of the app screen to edit this script.
* a popup window opens showing "no scripts found". If you tap on this line you can change it. Remove everything and enter the following code instead:

That should be it. Now every reboot Selinux is set to permissive again.

How does Nexus Imprint work? And how secure is Android at keeping it secure

Hello xda,

I owa Nexus 6P (64 GB) and I am running stock firmware (Marshmallow 6.0). How is the fingerprint technology implemented and what the security features keep the information related to fingerprint data secure from hackers etc. Does the scanner create an image and then run an algorithm on the image to create some sort of key? (or "hash" as I've heard) And is all of this information stored on a separate chip like how Apple implements it? How secure is Android from hackers being able to get the hashes or intercept the process and somehow get the fingerprint itself. Although I think the hashes are useless on their own I am still curious whether the data can be easily breached and obtained whether its too obfuscated to decipher or use.

Documents App Not Running

Installation of TWRP 3.0.0.2

hi i want to flash the latest twrp 3.0.0.2 recovery.i used twrp manager its says flashing successful but when i boot to recovery it is not the latest one rather the old one.i used android terminal still no avail. When i go into the recovery to install recovery through the img.it tells me to select partion to flash recovery and it only shows kernal image last time i selected kernal image by phone was soft bricked. anyone knows what to do.

Help with rooting (or something) gone wrong on Samsung GT-N5120

Hi!
My neighbors (11-year old) son apparently tried to root their Samsung GT-N5120 with something called King Root(??). I don't know more than that and they asked me to fix it cause (you know computers) -.-.
The problem is that it's stuck in boot loop. It boots up and it shows the screen and all but it doesn't happen anything and then it reboots. Now what i've tried is to start it in recovery mode (Volume Up + menu button + power button) and i've tried to do a factory reset but it didn't work. From what i've read i think he has overwritten those files that the factory reset needs. So what can I do? It doesn't seem to be bricked since it starts and I can start it in both recovery mode and download mode. My computer reacts when I plug it in and tries to install drivers and so forth (but it won't show up on My Computer). So something probably can be done I just don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Forget Wi-Fi

Well I'm going to try to explain myself. I had my phone rooted and everything was working fine. I don't know what happened that the root stop working. Someone in the thread of cfauto root post the solution that worked for me. Installing twrp and installing the new boot.img that the user upload. The phone works well but I have the troubles with the Wi-Fi. Everytime I restart the phone the phone forget my Wi-Fi network. Anybody having the same trouble and can help me to fix it?

[Help]my N6 auto shutdown without charging...

The same as title said, a week ago,.my device started auto shutdown while I Disconnect charge. Then i tried to turn on it,but it always display Google 1s,and auto shutdown again.(my battery power is full, and could be charged)

Problems after flashing identity crisis 6.0 rom to moto g on xt1031

Hey guys so i installed identity crisis 6.0 marshmallow rom (found on xda) for my moto g falcon Xt1031 everything went fine just had to flash the radio so I did and still no signal. Not wanting to deal with it I just restored my backup and same problem (i try to make a call and tells me to turn off airplane mode [yes I tried turning it off]) except worse now the home button is not working. My back up is kit Kat 4.4.4. Identity crisis 6.0 instructed to format data before installing so I redid that before flashing my back up. So if I have to flash radios and/or kernals again would I use the lollipop (my stock rom but flashed back to kitkat) radio/kernals or kitkats? Thanks for reading this hope you can help

wifi battery drain still not going away

So i've had the infamous Marshmallow wifi drain since the update rolled out (US retail 2gb version XT1540).
Didnt get the time to look into it as university life didnt permit me from resetting and stuff, but I have reset my phone twice in the past week and the bug is appearing again.

For the first reset, i did it from inside android's settings. and then restored a backup (without any apps apart from whatsapp and messenger). For the first day there was no battery drain so I installed a few more apps and boom, charged the phone overnight and there was massive wifi battery drain the next day.

I then reset the phone from android's setting menu again. and then reset cache from the recovery mode and then reset the entire phone from the recovery mode. Didn't backup and set up the phone as a new device. Worked fine for the first battery cycle (only installed whatsapp and onedrive, cant live without these two apps) but the drain started once i charged the phone again. For the next charge cycle I restarted the phone when battery was 100% charged and havent had the drain. When I charged the phone again, the drain appeared again.

I've also noticed (but can't confirm if this is true) that turning off the wifi or disconnecting from wifi when leaving range also starts the drain.

I was also on a trip for the past 10 days without wifi. For a three day stretch when I completely shut down the wifi, location and other things, there was not wifi drain. My phone stayed alive for three days, even though I took ~150 pictures and a couple of videos. The drain started again when I came back home and connected wifi.

I love the phone and I dont wont to move away from motorola due to this little but massively annoying bug. What are my options to fix this? Had a chat with a motorola rep and they asked to send it to the repair center. That is not a possibility due to my geographical location.

I can try a few more resets if you people recommend. My suspicion is that the MM update had some weird bug and that I should move back to lollipop and then update back upto MM. In that case, I will need you people to guide me from scratch as I have no idea how to root and stuff.

Reboot on every MM ROM

Hi I always get reboots seconds after a MM Rom boots up (every one I've tried) and I'd like to resolve it. This also happened months ago, which led me to believe that the Rom was not ready for my device yet, but apparently I was wrong. I am missing a requirement? Help!!! I bricked my htc one m9!!

So funny story. I was trying to install a different ROM onto my M9 and I went to recovery mode (I have TWRP Recovery) and then wiped The device which got rid of the existing ROM and then i turned off my M9 so i could remove the external SD card and then put on the new ROM i wanted. I re-inserted the SD card and then turned on the device (like a dumb ass) then realized that I had no OS installed so it's currently stuck at the white screen with the green HTC logo and the classical red text because it's rooted. I tried to hold the power button for like 2 minutes, tried the power and volume down button and power and volume up button. Nothing seems to break it out of this screen and I have no idea what to do. right now i'm thinking I should let the battery die and then charge it and then hold the power button and volume down to put it into download mode so i can put it back into recovery to install my ROM. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

SDCard Notification

Every time I reboot I get a notification
that reads

San Disk SD Card
Available For Moving Images and Other Media Files

I'm on MM Rooted. Its started only after the MM update. I also notice it on my G5 and that's not rooted.

Is there any way I can stop seeing that after a reboot? Besides removing the SD Card of course...

Sorry if this has been covered. I couldn't find anything related to it.

Republicwireless Moto X (Gen. 1) crashes erratically and ...

My 1st gen. Moto X has been upgraded via Republicwireless-supplied OTA upgrades to current Android 5.1. I have 160 apps in a 16 GB phone. I use both Google Play and Amazon Andoid apps.

Problem: Randomly the phone crashes and goes into varying degrees of reboot. Sometimes, the same one-by-one "optimizing" of all my apps occurs as when installing the OS 5.1 upgrade, making the reboot take ~30 min. (or so it seems). Other times, the reboot is less severe and only takes a couple of minutes. Other times, the phone freezes and takes a long-press of the power button to either turn off/and/or/turn back to a normal restart.

Since the OS 5.1 upgrade was done, it's been suggested I do a factory reset.

(Regarding the suggestion to do a factory reset) I cringe to admit I can't even sort out which apps have which files I want to back up. I don't know if they'll re-associate with the same apps if I somehow save them and "reinstall them"? From where-to-where? I don't know which apps have treasured data stored in them or where they each store the data? There's no feature built-in for "imaging" the internal files. How do I know I won't corrupt the file system/structure saving them elsewhere? ...and on ad infinitum.

[BTW: I recently used My Backup Pro by Rerware to back up a problem Asus tablet (lemon: still not fixed after two trips to the SquareTrade repair labs) but was told by the repair facility NOT to use My Backup Pro app. Rather: I am supposed to re-install apps one-at-a-time until hell breaks loose again. What is that supposed to tell me? How will I know if app #35 (installation order) is causing app #89 to crash...etc.? Makes no sense to me. ]
