For those of you on who frequently take and share screenshots on our forums or on social media, you may find that the default action taken after taking a screenshot is limited. This is true for users on stock, or close to stock, software such as on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. In a previous APK teardown, we found that the Google App was preparing to add screenshot crop/edit support, but we haven't seen this feature materialize just yet.
If you want a quick solution to taking, cropping, then sharing your screenshots, then check out the Screenshot Assistant app by XDA Junior Member PanWasky. This free app replaces the long-press home button action on your Android 6.0+ device to allow you to take and share your edited screenshots.
