OnePlus is ready to get their latest updates of their Open Beta software into the hands of those who own the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. So if you have the OnePlus 3, then you have access to Open Beta v16, while OnePlus 3T owners will be able to install Open Beta v7. Both of these updates are being announced in the same thread on the OnePlus forums and we're told that this is how things will continue going forward as well.
So both of these updates for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T will come with the same changes. Most of these changes are bug fixes so we shouldn't expect any big features in either of them. Although, the company did formally introduced its application called User Feedback. This application has been around for a while on beta builds and it provides an easy way to report a bug that will be sent directly to the testers and quality control team at OnePlus.
- Enabled Bug report feedback app (User Feedback)
- Fixed duplicate Contacts after upgrading
- Fixed Contacts search function bug
- Fixed alarm clock occasionally not ringing
- Fixed certain app crashes
- Fixed some display issues with Dark and Light themes
- Optimized power consumption
- General bug fixes
Launching the application prompts you to pick a category that you're experiencing the bug with (for example: the photo album, desktop, hardware, network, etc.). You'll then be asked to type out a description of what you're experiencing and then provide an email so they can contact you if OnePlus has any additional questions. Along with this new application, we're told Open Beta 16 and Open Beta 7 also fixes a number of bugs that have previously been reported.
This includes some bugs that duplicated contacts after an upgrade, broke the contacts search feature, caused the alarm clock to not go off, made some applications crash and also caused an issue with light and dark themes. OnePlus also includes "general bug fixes' in their changelog and also says the updates will optimize the power consumption of the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T as well. You can download the updates directly from the OnePlus website and those already on the Open Beta builds will get an OTA update notification.
