Some questions about unlocking the bootloader, what drawbacks is there on G4?

On the Sony Z3 Compact you'd get worse low light performance on the camera, because you lost DRM when you unlocked the bootloader. Is there any such issues to think about when you unlock the bootloader on the G4? I have for example heard something about not being able to stream on youtube or something.

And is there a way to unlock the bootloader without going through LG?
