I've had my phone/SD card combo running fine for 4 months. (Moto X Play + 64GB Sandisk SD card) This week, my podcast app started displaying download errors; I soon discovered that the SD card was no longer being detected.
- (The Moto is running Marshmallow 6.0.1; the card is a SanDisk Ultra 64GB UHS-I/Class 10 Card SDSQUNB-064G-GN3MN)
- The card had been adopted as internal storage.
- I mounted the card on my PC; it detected errors. Chkdsk said "Corruption was found while examining the volume bitmap".
- After correcting the errors, my PC could read the card just fine; folders and photos appeared fine.
- But still, my phone couldn't detect my card. Time for some isolation testing:
- Insert a different card into my phone: success. The phone detected the card.
- Insert my card into a different Android phone: success. The phone detected the card.
